Day 7 A Servant's Heart

I'm hoping that the silence on here doesn't mean that everyone has given up on the challenge! I'm okay if people aren't engaged on my blog, but please keep up the prayers for your boys. If you are interested in the group dynamic of this challenge, then by all means, share what God is showing you through this.

We are 7 days in....Has anyone had any new revelations or interesting occurrences? On the subject of today's "A Servant's Heart," what specific ways do you teach your boys how to be a servant?

  1. My son sees his father serve the church during worship service; waiting the table and leading prayers. But he doesn't see us doing any type of service for the Lord outside of church, because we don't do it. I'm sure there are ways we could serve the Lord in our community, we just haven't taken the time to "be bothered." He needs to see us open our hearts to those around us, and we are not there in our faith yet. It is something that we need to work on so that we can raise him, by example, to be a servant for the Lord.

  2. This has been such a great practice in prayer! I know that sounds simple, but it has brought my husband and I together to pray more than we were before and just the challenge itself is increasing my prayer life in general :).
We moved to Denver 9 months ago to help start a church.....so currently we have been serving our socks off! Most of this 9 months has been without a job (we sold our business in Illinois and lived on that for a bit) so we really have had an abundance od time to serve at church and people around us. It has been such an amazing experience for our son to see and be part of (us too, of course!). As my husband starts a business here life will have a tendency to go back to normal, we are praying it does not....that we will be able to continue to serve God and this church wholeheartedly!

  3. I don't have anything profound to add about todays post. I have been challenged this week to really step things up. I think my mindset has been I still have time before I really need to worry about the issues my sons will face. I have always prayed for them but this is different. I am a fan of the book power of a praying wife and now I am seeing the power of a praying mom as well.
